<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proofer capable of properly judging the validity/invalidity of a print condition. <P>SOLUTION: This proofer receives image data indicating the image of a printed matter and a print condition indicating details at the time of printing the printed matter, and prepares image data indicating a proof image 800 where at least the configuration of the image of the printed matter is reproduced. Also, descriptions 820 indicating the print condition are added to the object 810 constituting the proof image 800 indicated by the image data.
