<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the function of an image forming apparatus from being utilized except for at a specific time or on a specific day of the week. <P>SOLUTION: When a selection function is managed by a user ID, a CPU of the image forming apparatus displays a user ID input picture on a liquid crystal touch panel to make it possible to input a user ID with ten keys. When the user ID is inputted, the user ID is compared with all the user IDs. In the case of discriminating that the inputted user ID exists in a RAM, it is discriminated whether an input user corresponding to the user ID can utilize the selection function. When he/she can utilize the selection function, it is discriminated whether the utilization limit of the selection function by the input user is set effectively. When it is set effectively, it is discriminated whether the selection function is available based on available times and days of the week and the present time and day of the week.
