<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication system and method for transmitting only non-transmitted data when data transmission through a universal serial bus (USB) is stopped in the middle. <P>SOLUTION: This host device 30 is provided with a USB driver 32 for transmitting and receiving data based on a transmission instruction from host software 31. A target device 10 is provided with a USB driver 32, a transmitting/ receiving part 11 for making data communication with the USB driver 32, and a reception data counting part 15 for counting the number of reception data. The host device 30 obtains a counted value 33 counted by the reception data counting part 15 from the target device 13 when the communication is stopped in the middle of data transmission. The host device 30 calculates the non-transmitted data whose transmission is stopped in the middle from the obtained counted value 33, and transmits the residual transmission data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
