<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium and its manufacturing method that is most suitable for the optical recording medium which is used in recording and reproducing by using a short wavelength laser beam and a high NA lens. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a recording layer 3 formed on the roughened pattern of a 0.005 mm to 0.3 mm thick thin base 2, a reflection layer 4, an adhesive layer 5, and a support base 6. The thin base 2 can be made by casting. When using a dye in the recording layer 3, a sufficient amount of the dye is filled in the groove which is made deeper on the thin base 2. Thus, it becomes possible to obtain the tracking signals without fail and to reliably form recording marks even when using a blue laser beam of 405 nm wavelength and an objective lens of 0.8 numerical aperture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
