<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output device and output method for suppressing and managing the number of times of outputs by suppressing the simple copy of a stream or the copy due to repeated output of an altered stream. <P>SOLUTION: A key is embedded in a print stream, and a key hole is embedded in an applet for transferring the stream to a printer, and the printer holds the key and the key hole. The applet transfers the key hole to the printer, and receives the key in return (S827). The applet generates a new stream in which the key received from the printer is embedded (S828). Only when the key is matched with the key hole, and the key is unlocked, the printer executes print processing (S832).
