<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily setting the identification information needed for access control into a terminal requiring the access control. <P>SOLUTION: In an information processing apparatus 110, a reader 111 reads identification information 101 stored in a portable medium 100 and the identification information 101 is written into an identification information retaining device 113. An access control means 114, if receiving an access request 115 from the outside, compares the access request 115 to the identification information 101 which the identification information retaining device 113 retains, and determines if access is permitted. Thus, by simply letting a user present the portable medium such as an IC card to the reader, the identification information is automatically set, the setting work is made easier and accuracy and user-friendliness are improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
