<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape which decreases friction between a magnetic head and a rotating cylinder. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic tape 817 is used for a magnetic tape drive utilizing a helical scanning method in which a magnetic head 808, is installed in a concave-shaped window 820 formed around the rotating cylinder 807.
