PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen image reader provided with two reading parts, in which (1) a reading control is simplified, (2) the throughput of the image reader is enhanced, (3) current reading data is concentrated, (4) a period of time for processing an original is shortened. SOLUTION: A prescribed interval is kept between the reading positions in the sub-scanning direction of two reading parts within a both-side image reader according to a reading magnification.
