PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device for reducing a shadow region and widening a light detection section, and to provide a solid-state image pickup device array using the solid-state image pickup device. SOLUTION: In a light detection section 10 composed by pixels A arrayed by (n) columns×(m) rows, supply wires 13a, 13b that are electrically connected to transfer electrodes 12a-12d made of polycrystalline silicone for applying a transmission voltage are installed so that one portion of the surface of a pixel D to be shielded is covered, thus eliminating a shadow region for installing the supply lines having existed at both the ends in the horizontal direction of the light detection section conventionally and widening the light detection section. Additionally, when a plurality of solid-state image pickup devices are used adjacently in a horizontal direction, a portion that cannot be imaged can be reduced. Additionally, the amount of decrease in the quantity of incident light to the pixel D to be shielded can be corrected based on output signals from the pixel D to be shielded or other pixels A.
