<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network connection device and a data transfer method therefor, which transfer the contents requiring a real time property such as moving pictures and sounds through a network to surely record, reproduce, and edit the contents while avoiding frame dropouts, breaks, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: Buffer parts 13, 23, 33, and 43 are provided in devices 1, 2, 3, and connected to a LAN 10, and a device on the transmission side and a device on the reception side manage the quantities of the data stored in the buffers respectively and control mutual communication and processing of themselves and each other in accordance with a communication condition. Processing is controlled so as to avoid breaks of data; and when a break of data occurs, processing in at least one of the transmission side and the reception side is interrupted to wait for restoration of a buffer storage volume, and processing is restarted when a certain quantity of the data is stored. Data of moving pictures and sounds are transmitted with UDP protocols, and control commands for instructing other devices to stop/restart processing are sent through a TCP /IP. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
