<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint reader with high security for providing various electronic equipment needing person himself/herself confirmation with an authentication function by fingerprint collation. <P>SOLUTION: This fingerprint reader is connected to the various electronic equipment, reads a fingerprint image and transmits the image to the electronic equipment. The electronic equipment receives the fingerprint image and uses the fingerprint image for a person himself/herself confirming means or the like. The fingerprint reader is provided with a function which records and stores an unrewritable inherent ID number for each equipment and can transmit the inherent ID number in response to a request from the connected electronic equipment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
