PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image processing apparatus, and an image processing method in which a proper image correction is possible. SOLUTION: A sharpness part 200 is provided on a post-stage of a texture intensifying part 100. A luminance signal Y<SB>1</SB>becomes a luminance signal Y<SB>2</SB>by amplifying only its texture component (small amplitude component) comprising fine portions of an image by means of an enhance gain in the texture intensifying part 100. The luminance signal Y<SB>2</SB>becomes a luminance signal Y<SB>3</SB>by applying sharpness processing based on a sharpness gain corresponding to the enhance gain thereto in the sharpness part 200.
