<p>A three-dimensional reusable plastic storage container (10) is disclosed with an improved latching mechanism (24, 25, 43, 44) between the lid (20, 42) and container portion thereof. Biased latching mechanisms (24, 25, 43, 44) are disposed on opposing ends of the lid (20, 42) and are received in recesses (22, 23, 47) disposed on opposing ends of the container (10), at the upper rim (11, 46) thereof. The disclosed latching mechanism (24, 25, 43, 44) is applicable to blow molded container (10) with inverted upper rims (11, 46) as well as injection molded containers with external upper rims. The latching mechanisms (24, 25, 43, 44) do not interfere with the use of the ergonomic design of handles (31, 56, 58) disposed on the opposing ends of the container (10).</p> |
