A textile machine carding unit has capping rods (3) which are anchored esp. by a multi-section clip set (9). The capping rod is fabricated of a lightweight metal or lightweight metal alloy which is anchored by a multi-section clip set, secured at each end by end-clips. A clip set is fitted to each side of the base strip (2). Each set is made up of individual pieces which are separated by gaps (10). The gaps (10) on one side of the strip (2) are not positioned immediately opposite the gaps making up the second set of clips.
