The sealing strip (10) has an outer sealing layer (30) with a smooth surface facing away from the wall and a protective cum drainage layer (32,36) with projections (32a) facing toward the wall. There are spaces (32b) between the projections. The sealing layer may be made of a long strip (20) or panels (26) with edges dovetailed together. The filter layer (34) is in contact with the projections and the wall.
