Paperboard carton having an audible locking sound

An improved recloseable paperboard package for containing a granular material, includes a container base and a lid formed from a single piece of paperboard. The container base includes a first panel which forms a locking mechanism with the lid. When the lid is closed, an audible locking sound is heard having a sound pressure level of at least about 78 dBSPL.
