The invention relates to a method for producing polytetrahydrofurane, tetrahydrofurane copolymers, their mono or diesters, in addition to the mono or diesters of polytetrahydrofurane with low colour indices, in the presence of a catalyst. According to said method, raw tetrahydrofurane, produced in the conventional manner, is converted into pure tetrahydrofurane by distillation, the latter being subsequently subjected to an essentially complete hydrogenation and the highly pure tetrahydrofurane that has thus been obtained is used immediately after its production for polymerisation.
