The intensity regulation circuit (1) forms part of a control circuit accommodated inside a protective housing (2). A piezoelectric head (4) is connected to the housing by a flexible wire (3) carrying high-frequency alternating current signals. The strength of the ultrasonic signals generated depends on the amplitude of the alternating current signals. Various frequency ranges may be chosen, e.g. 20-40 kHz, 40-60 kHz and 60-100 kHz.
