The vest has at least one lining (16), which comprises several layers of a bullet-proof fibre material. The layers are combined into a packet (19) through lock stitches (24), which run across the whole of the lining surface and are in a knot-free arrangement. The stitches do not intersect and adjacent stitches run in parallel. A loose packet (18) is placed over the quilted packet on the lining side facing away from the body; its layers are not combined across their surfaces by stitching. The ballistic lining is located in a sleeve (20).
