A food storage and vending pack has a shaped container with a flat base and with a groove running around the inside of the base to form a drainage duct for moisture. The groove is fitted with an absorbing insert secured by adhesive to ensure the insert stays in place if the pack is inverted. The pack can be enhanced with a double bottom to house the absorbing insert.
