The ridge covering is provided by a hooded copper sheet element (1) with depending sidearms (2) which are angled outwards, their bottom edges received within a channel-shaped sheet (3) with outer and inner walls (3c,3d) of different length, for catching the water draining off the roof ridge and directing it onto the underlying roof via the overflow edge (3e) at the top of the inner wall, after flowing from the outside of the sidearm to the inside of the sidearm.
