The lock (1) for a door in a hotel has a main sliding bolt (2), a security locking mechanism (3) and a secondary sliding bolt (4). There is a bolt withdrawal mechanism which incorporates a code reading microswitch module (5). There is a rotor with a cam (7) adjacent to the code reader and a switching lever (9). The cam may engage a lever and may be moved into a door closed please-do-not- disturb position. The lever may act on further levers controlling the motion of the bolts.
