The ends of the open band (10) forming the clamp overlap. The inner end section (11) of the band, and the part of the outer band-end section (12) covering it when the clamp is tightened produces a continuous inner surface . The inner and end has a cut-out part (16) starting from the band-end and extending in the band's lengthwise direction. The outer band section in the part corresponding to the cut-out part has a ridge (18) whose height matches the thickness of the band's material.
