A group traffic supporting method in a telecommunication network where a subscriber (MS_1, MS_2, MS_3) registers in a network element, which previously served the subscriber for information on at least one group traffic group defined for the subscriber (MS_1, MS_2, MS_3), on the basis of which information said serving network element (DXT_1) is able to support the group traffic setup. If said serving network element (DXT_1) has no connection to said subscriber database (HLR) or another network element (DXT_2) it (DXT_1) it asks the subscriber's mobile station being served for information on one or more group traffic groups programmed in the mobile station, the mobile station (MS_1, MS_2, MS_3) returns said information to said serving network element (DXT_1), and said element (DXT_1) stores the received information and uses it for setting up group traffic in the service area of the network element (DXT_1).
