The dry powder is placed in a container and brought into contact with the ceramic surface of the latter. It is then sintered at elevated temp. and sunseuqently cooled. Spec. the container consists of ceramic or is lined or coated with it. Sintering takes place under vacuum in an atmos. of inert gas.
