There has been a problem that establishment of intercommunicatable connection between a computer working as a server and a projector working as a client is cumbersome. In establishing connection between a server (20) and projectors (301-30n), first connectable projectors (301-303) are sought using UDP broadcasting communication commands. After that, a projector (301) to be connected is selected and a connection is established with an IP address set up in the projector (301). Because the user can easily set up a connection environment in which the server (20) and the projector (301) can inter-communicate. Because the user use TCP/IP communication commands to input/output image data and so on, data can be transmitted reliably. Authentication that is made through a projected keyword at connection establishment time prevents an outsider from falsely accessing the projector (301).
