An optical information medium very small in disk surface warpage and excellent in scratch resistance/wear resistance, and a production method therefore. An optical information medium (1) comprising a film element formed on a support substrate (2) and composed of one layer or a plurality of layers including at least a recording layer (5) or a reflection layer (3), wherein at lest one of a surface on the support substrate side and a surface on the film element side is formed of a hard coat layer (9) consisting of cured material of a composition containing (A) inorganic fine particles having an average particle size of up to 100 nm, (B) a reactive silicone, and (C) an active energy beam curing compound.
