PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid filling apparatus which prevents damage to a conveyance device, etc., so as to minimize a loss, by preventing a centering bell from falling downward, even if a rod is damaged. SOLUTION: This liquid filling apparatus comprises: a filling valve 52 whose axis is elongated almost in a vertical direction and which allows a container to be filled with a liquid in a lower part; the centering bell 56 which is slidably and detachably fitted into the lower part of the filling valve 52 and abuts on the upper part of the container so as to secure the airtightness of the filling valve 52 and the container; a movement mechanism which is composed of a cam roller bracket 62, a cam roller 63, a spring 64 and a cam 65, and moves the centering bell 56 downward via the rod 59 for being coupled to the centering bell 56, at least when the container is filled with the liquid; and a fall preventing member 69 which prevents the fall of the centering bell 56 by being locked to a snift block 57 which is to be integrally coupled to the filling valve 52, when the rod 59 is damaged.
