<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To practically enable interlace recording by improving a supply method for data and commands from an external apparatus to a general recorder without an interlace recording function. <P>SOLUTION: Among N recording elements 51-5N arranged by an interval of P dots in a sub scanning direction, n recording elements are selected by an interval of k dots to satisfy the condition that k=mP and at the same time, n and k are prime to each other and integers while m is an integer not smaller than 1. Data is constituted and transmitted to a printer so that recording data is given to selected recording elements and dummy data is given to the other recording elements for every main scanning of a recording head. Interlace recording is carried out when a sub scanning order for n dots is transmitted to the printer after each main scanning order. Since an unrecordable region is generated by the interlace recording at a start time and an end time of the recording, recording data is given to all recording elements present in the region, thereby executing recording to the region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
