<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording sheet wherein ozone resistance for a sufficiently long period is improved while keeping a favorable ink-absorbing property, and also, a paper surface coloring is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: This ink jet; recording sheet has a coloring material-receiving layer on a supporting body, and the coloring material-receiving layer contains at least one kind of substituted resorcinols. As the substituted resorcinol, a compound represented by general formula (1) can be counted. In general formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>each represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, a halogen atom, an amino group, a cyano group, an alkoxy group, arc alkoxy carbonyl group, an aryl oxy group, an aryl oxy carbonyl group, an acyl group, an acyl oxy group, an alkyl sulfonyl group, an aryl sulfonyl group, an acyl amino sulfonyl group, an alkoxy carbonyl oxy group and so forth.
