<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make more surely detectable that a user has seen an electronic watch. <P>SOLUTION: In a state wherein a user 200 does not see a wrist watch, a pyroelectric infrared sensor 206 cannot detect an infrared ray for the user 200 because a cover member 202 is located between the sensor 206 and a window 102. When the user 200 brings the wrist watch near to the face by inclining the watch by a specified angle to see the watch, the cover member 202 is rotated by action of a weight 204 so that the cover is removed from between the sensor 206 and the window 102. Then, the sensor 206 detects the infrared ray from the user 200 through the window 102, and detects the user seeing the watch.
