PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new additive for a lubricant oil with which a lubricant oil composition having an improved base number is prepared without damaging the performance of an exhaust gas-treating device such as a PM (particulate exhaust materials) trap and an oxidation catalyst, and to provide the additive composition for the lubricant oil, and the lubricant oil composition containing them formulated therewith. SOLUTION: The succinamide compound represented by formulas (1), (2) or (3) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a 6-30C alkenyl group or alkyl group; (n) is an integer of 0-3; and A is an amino group or an N-piperazyl group), or a boride thereof is provided.
