PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction in weight and further to improve sound absorbing performance in a sound absorbing material for a vehicle such as a floor carpet, an insulator dash or the like. SOLUTION: An ultra fine fiber layer 40 made of ultra fine synthetic fiber manufactured by a melt blown method and/or ultra fine natural fiber such as cotton, paper and hem is inserted and integrated between a skin layer 20 and a cushion layer 30. Thereby a conventional weighty backing layer can be disused to attain reduction in weight and further sound absorbing performance is improved by executing effective sound absorbing treatment to both noises outside the vehicle and inside the vehicle.
