PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of surely preventing leakage of the light irradiated from LEDs when the LEDs are mounted on a flexible wiring board. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel 2 with transparent electrodes constituting display pixels formed, and a light guide plate 5 for backlight arranged on the backside of this liquid crystal display panel 2, the LEDs 7 are mounted on the flexible wiring board 6 connected to an electrode terminal part 4 of the liquid crystal display panel 2 so that they are opposite to the incident plane 8 of the light guide plate 5 and a light shielding pattern 9 is formed on the rear face side corresponding to the mounted positions of the LEDs 7 of the flexible wiring board 6.
