PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new axial plunger pump allowing the stroke of a pump plunger to be changed without using a swash plate having a variable tilting angle. SOLUTION: This axial plunger pump P is provided with: an input shaft 26; a plurality of pump cylinders 21 annularly disposed so as to surround the axis L1 of the input shaft 26; pump plungers 23 slidably fitted to the respective pump cylinders 21; and a gearing connection means for converting the rotation of the input shaft 26 into reciprocating motion of the pump plungers 23 and for changing the reciprocating strokes of the pump plungers 23. The gearing connection means is provided with: a drive gear 28 mounted to the input shaft 26; driven gears 30 mounted to the pump plungers 23 and gearing with the drive gear 28; and connection rods 33 each having one end journaled to the driven gear 30 at a position decentered from the axis L2 of the plunger 23, and having the other end journaled to a slider 32 radially movable with respect to the axis L1 of the input shaft 26.
