PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which has good external appearance, transparency, and adhesiveness and imparts a formerly unattainable high abrasion resistance to a substrate surface. SOLUTION: The organosiloxane resin composition comprises colloidal silica, a condensate of a trialkoxysilane hydrolyzate, a curing catalyst, and a solvent. In the protonic nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of the composition, the chemical shift of silylmethyl group proton satisfies the inequalities: 0.850≤[Y]/[S]≤0.990, 0.005≤[X]/[S]≤0.090, and 0.001≤[Z]/[S]≤0.090 (wherein [S] is the integration value of all the peaks in the range from 0.05 ppm to 0.25 ppm; [X] is the peak integration value in the range from 0.20 ppm to 0.25 ppm; [Y] is the peak integration value in the range of 0.10 ppm to 0.20 ppm; and [Z] is the peak integration value in the range from 0.05 ppm to 0.10 ppm) provided that the methyl group proton of tetramethylsilane is 0 ppm).
