PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash light emitting device which has small operation range volume of a component and can efficiently vary the angle of irradiation with the illumination light from a light source. SOLUTION: The flash light emitting device has a light emitting tube, a 1st prism member which is arranged in front of the light emitting tube, a 2nd prism member which is arranged on a light emitting surface of the 1st prism member and is movable on the light emitting surface of the 1st prism member along the length of the light emitting tube, a coupling means which is coupled to the 2nd prism, and a driving means which drives the coupling means, and the angle of light distribution is varied by varying the quantity of an overlap between the 1st and 2nd prism members viewed from the light emission side by the driving means.
