OPTICAL RECEIVER CAPABLE OF GENERATING SELF RESET SIGNAL

PURPOSE: An optical receiver capable of generating a self reset signal is provided to perform a stable operation using a reset signal generated in the optical receiver by itself. CONSTITUTION: A photo diode(10) converts an optical signal received from an optical fiber into a current. A preamplifier(20) converts the converted current into a voltage and then amplifies it. The first peak detector(30) detects a top peak voltage and a bottom peak voltage of the amplified voltage and then finds an exact middle value of those two values. The first limiting amplifier(40) amplifies the voltage converted by the first preamplifier and a middle value detected by the first peak detector. The second peak detector(50) detects a top peak voltage and a bottom peak voltage provided by being amplified by the first limiting amplifier, and finds a middle value of the two values. The second limiting amplifier(60) amplifies the voltage amplified by the first limiting amplifier and the middle value detected by the second peak detector. A buffer(70) buffers the voltage amplified by the second limiting amplifier. An envelope detector(80) detects the existence of a packet signal by inputting a final output voltage being output from the buffer. And a comparator(90) outputs a reset signal and a reverse reset signal having an opposite polarity by inputting an output voltage of the envelope detector.
