PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting mechanism for a camera which can reduce noise and vibration generated by a motor incorporated in a camera main body. SOLUTION: The mechanism has: the motor; a 1st pulley which rotates integrally with the output rotating shaft of the motor and has a helical tooth shape on its outer circumferential surface; a gear member which has a 2nd pulley part having a rotating shaft almost parallel to the rotating shaft of the 1st pulley and having a helical tooth shape on its outer circumferential surface and has a gear part rotating integrally with the 2nd pulley part and having a gear formed on its outer circumferential surface; a timing belt which has a helical tooth shape on its inner circumferential surface and is wound around the 1st pulley and 2nd pulley to transmit the rotational driving force of the motor to the gear member; and a gear train part to which the rotational driving force that the gear member receives is transmitted, wherein the helical tooth shapes of the 1st pulley part, 2nd pulley part, and timing belt have the same helix angle and at least one of a mirror driving mechanism, a shutter charge mechanism, a film winding mechanism, and a film rewinding mechanism is driven.
