PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust cylindrical roller bearing in which cost increase as well as abrasion amounts of cylindrical rollers and of retainers is limited. SOLUTION: In the thrust cylindrical roller bearing 10, a plurality of cylindrical rollers 20 intervened between a pair of bearing rings 30, 31 opposite to an axial direction are arranged in a freely rollable manner within a plurality of pockets 15 juxtaposed along a circumferential direction of the retainer 11. A steel ball 25 for a ball bearing is inserted and fixed within a recess 21a formed in an end face 21 of an outer peripheral side of the cylindrical roller 20, and then a top 25a of the steel ball 25 for the ball bearing overhanging from the end face 21 of the outer peripheral side of the cylindrical roller 20 is in point contact with an inner surface 15a of an outer peripheral side of the pocket 15.
