PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a loading material for low density paper, and to produce low density paper and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method produces the low density paper with high rigidity by paper making a slurry for paper making obtained by adding the loading material for low density paper which contains pillar-shaped or tubular aggregated particles comprising flaky fine crystals of basic magnesium carbonate together with various kinds of chemicals for paper making to the pulp slurry.
