OPTICAL DEVICE, OPTICAL SCANNER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device capable of effectively correcting the deviation of the image forming position of a light spot caused by the refractive index distribution of a scanning lens functioning as the optical device and the deviation in image height of the space of the light spot, and to provide an optical scanner using the optical device and an image forming apparatus using the optical scanner. SOLUTION: The optical device is used in the optical scanner where a deflected light beam obtained by deflecting a light beam from a light source by a light deflector is condensed on a surface to be scanned as the light spot by an optical system and made to optically scan the surface to be scanned. The optical device has the refractive index distribution where a refractive index is not uniform included in the optical system, and its shape is formed to correct the deviation of the image forming position of the light spot caused by the refractive index distribution for every image height.
