PURPOSE: An electron gun for cathode ray tube is provided to improve a background drift characteristic by using an auxiliary eyelet having a thermal expansion coefficient different from the thermal expansion coefficient of an eyelet. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for cathode ray tube includes a cathode, a cylindrical eyelet, and a plurality of electrodes. The cathode is used for emitting electron beams on a phosphor screen. The cathode is inserted into the cylindrical eyelet. The electrodes are used for focusing and accelerating electron beams. An auxiliary eyelet is adhered on an upper surface of the eyelet. The auxiliary eyelet has a shape of disk or a shape of cap. A thermal expansion coefficient of the auxiliary eyelet is different from the thermal expansion coefficient of the eyelet.
