PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent for a coating material for a plastic molded product, capable of imparting thixotropy without eroding a plastic material, and an agent for imparting the thixotropy, enabling the impartment of the thixotropy. SOLUTION: The agent for imparting the thixotropy to a coating composition contains a monoketone compound represented by general formula (I) (R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-8C alkyl group; and R<SP>2</SP>is a 9-12C branched alkyl group).
