PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply unit for a filling and sealing apparatus, capable of supplying water without suspending the driving operation of the filling and sealing apparatus during a filling and sealing work. SOLUTION: The water supply unit (7) comprises a water feed tank (20) having the quantity of stored water, which is larger than that in a storage container (5) of a filling and sealing apparatus (1), a water supplying means (30) for supplying water in the water feed tank to the storage container, a water volume detecting means (10) for detecting the upper and the lower limits of a water volume in the storage tank, and a controlling means (40) for controlling the driving operation of the water supplying means on the basis of a signal produced from the water volume detecting means and adjusting the water volume in the storage container within the range of the upper and the lower limits. Accordingly, even when a filling and sealing work is carried out, water can be supplied to the storage container without suspending the driving operation of the filling and sealing apparatus.
