PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for administering a page memory while realizing an image inputting and outputting parallel operation efficiently using the page memory without failing to obtain a printing page memory or delaying the obtainment, and a memory controlling method. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for storage for printing inputted image data, using a memory area with a plurality of page memories of a predetermined size provided continuously, comprises a selecting means for selecting a part of the page memories as a printing dedicated page memory for storing image data to be printed, a printing page memory setting means for setting the page memories selected by the selecting means as a printing dedicated page memory, and a memory means for storing the image data stored in the page memories.
