PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus which is capable of forming a high quality image by stably jetting ink drops. SOLUTION: A head driving control section is provided with a main control unit 101 and a head driver 102 that drives an ink jet head. The head driver 102 is composed of a DAC 103 that outputs a given voltage data with its resolving power of 8 bits; an amplifier 104 that amplifies voltage depending on the DAC output level; a SEPP circuit 105 that converts impedance of a driving wave shape of the amplified voltage into a lower impedance; and a PZT selection circuit 107 comprising a shift register circuit (64 bits) that inputs both SCLK and SD, a latched circuit (64 bits) for latching the respective register levels of the shift register circuits with LAT, a level shifter circuit of 64 bits, and an analog switch group to be controlled on and off with the level shifter circuit.
