EQUALIZER OF VSB RECEIVER CAPABLE OF CARRYING OUT EQUALIZATION USING SEGMENT SYNCHRONOUS INFORMATION

PURPOSE: An equalizer of a VSB receiver capable of carrying out equalization using segment synchronous information is provided to improve equalization performance of data of VSB broadcasting signals when equalization is performed in a blind mode in a section including data. CONSTITUTION: An equalizer of a VSB receiver compensates for distortion of a VSB broadcasting signal, which is generated on a transmission channel, using field synchronous information including synchronous information of each field of the VSB broadcasting signal and segment synchronous information including synchronous information of each data segment of each field. The equalizer includes an extractor(220) for extracting the segment synchronous information included in the VSB broadcasting signal, a storage unit(240) for storing the extracted segment synchronous information, and an equalizing unit(260) for equalizing the VSB broadcasting signal on the basis of the segment synchronous information stored in the storage unit.
