PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring an amount of fuel in a noncontact fuel gauge are provided to prevent malfunction and to improve reliability by measuring the amount of fuel through a noncontact logic manner. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring an amount of fuel is installed in a fuel tank(110) filled up with LPG fuel. The apparatus includes a base section(112) connected to the fuel tank(110), a body section(111), a part of which is immersed in fuel, a float(113) positioned on a water surface of fuel, and a connection section(115) for connecting the float(113) to the body section(111). A noncontact indicator(120) is provided at an upper portion of the base section(112) in order to measure an amount of fuel in a noncontact logic manner. The noncontact indicator(120) includes an inner magnet(114) and an outer magnet(118), which are magnetically interacted with each other.
