<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a side wall panel for a unit room by using a technique of injection compression molding (low-pressure molding) to obtain a sandwich structure consisting of a core layer and front and rear surface layers covering the core layer. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the side wall panel for the unit room is implemented by employing a press section consisting of upper and lower molds, and an injecting section for injecting thermoplastic resins through a gate formed in the lower mold to a surface of the same. Specifically, the method is carried out by pressing the lower or upper mold until a cavity defined by the molds is reduced to a predetermined size and compressing the injected thermoplastic resins, whereby the cavity is filled with resins. According to the method, the injection section includes two or more injection units, and the thermoplastic resin for molding the skin layers and the thermoplastic resin containing a thermosetting resin filler, for molding the core layer are alternately injected. In this manner, the thermoplastic resin of the core layer and the thermoplastic resin of the skin layers sandwiching the core layer are injected onto the surface of the lower mold, and then the layers are compressed to fill the cavity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
